先週の金曜あたりから、咳が出始めて、今日は熱が出ています。
熱が出ても、時には会社を休めないこともあります。どなたもそんな経験あるんだと思います。
これが正しいか、正しくないか。年代によっても大きく異なりますよね。
ちなみに新入社員は真面目で、ちょっとの熱では休まないそうです。
私が新人だったころとは大違いですね！

新潟は個性的なラーメンで有名です。背油たっぷりのラーメンとかカレーラーメンです。
ただ、今日のタイトルには「Kosoba」と言うキーワードからも分かるように、蕎麦に関する記事と推測できます。

記事内容の紹介
[su_list]- 新潟県妙高市にある蕎麦屋は、地元の蕎麦種を保存するために2001年にオープンした。
- その名は、小蕎亭。週末になると、蕎麦愛好家が全国から集まって、こそばと言う蕎麦の品種を楽しみます
- この品種は通常の蕎麦の三分の一しかなく、落ち葉を栄養とした肥沃な土から育てられる。
- この品種の蕎麦は、収穫量がすくないたため売られることがなかった。そして20年前に絶滅の危機にあった
- Isao Ichimuraさんがこのこそばを保存するために「良いものを提供する場が必要だ」と考えた。
- そして、彼の家族と相談した結果、彼の妻が小蕎亭を立ち上げた
- 小蕎亭は雑誌で特集されて以降、注目されるようになった。
- 使われていなかった畑でこそばを栽培したり、JA越後の協力により、その収穫量は当初の1トン以下から10トンへ大きく伸びた。
- 昔ながらの蕎麦臼でひかれ、その麺は独特なほどに滑らかな歯ごたえを生み出す
- 2代目の店主、Shinya Ichimuraさんは、みんなに「妙高に来たときはいつでも小蕎を食べたい」と言ってもらいたいと最後に語った。

1. Do you agree that the restaurant played an important role in the preservation of kosoba?
Yes, it played an important role because their shop stimulated the cultivation of kosoba. Due to this, there was more harvest and they could serve more noodles at the restaurant. Soba is a common noodle for Japanese but the kosoba has a rare taste and Soba lovers come from all over Japan to try the noodles. I think now kosoba obtains publicity and help the local economy since many people visit the town.
2. What do you think farmer’s associations and local governments can do to promote local crops?
Maybe they can put some more value. For example, they analyze the crops and if it includes more nutrients or if there are no chemical residues or no chemical inputs used, they can emphasis the fact on its advertising. We are getting health more conscious and when we know the crops are good for our health, we are willing to buy it regardless of its price. I think it is also important for local governments or associations to continue to maintain the high quality of crops by doing some research or experiments because this would be costly and time consuming that individual farmers won’t be able to do them by themselves.
3. Which crop would you like to preserve? Why?
One of the crops we should preserver is soybeans. Most of the traditional seasonings are made from soybeans, such as Tofu, Miso and Shoyu ( soy sauce). These seasonings are characteristic of Japanese cuisine. However, over 90% of soybeans are imported, which means our source of soybeans depends on other countries, like the US, China and Canada. Preserving soybeans cultivation is akin to preserving our traditional food taste. Therefore, I think we should preserve soybeans.

と言うのも、私は味音痴で、蕎麦の味がわからないからです。
正直「みどりのたぬき」でも美味しいって美味しいって言って食べています。
本物の味を提供する「小蕎亭」なら私のような味音痴でも蕎麦の本当の美味しさを理解する事ができるかもしれません！

今日は比較的簡単な英文だったかと思います。
ところで、昔外国から来たゲストと食事に行った際に、「So bad」「So bad」と言っているので、何がそんなに酷いのかと思っていたら、「そば」の事を指していたことがあります。
